Toy Workshops

Making toys for those in need at Christmas

Toy Workshops / Club Days

3rd Saturday of Each Month

On the 3rd Saturday of each month, the workshop is dedicated solely to making toys and general club maintenance. All members are invited to come along and help the club achieve its toy making goal for the year and also help with the up-keep of the buildings. The club was founded on the idea of sharing woodworking knowledge and evolved into doing good things for charity at Christmas. Each year the club donates around 500 toys to three different Goulburn Valley based charities that support families at Christmas and also makes two financial donations to local organisations that help the community in some way. Being a member of the GV Woodworkers, means that we all support each other to learn new skills, generously donate our time to help make toys and keep the club running and represent the club at various events.

The toy workshop / club days, help members refine specific woodworking skills. These include: using a variety of sanders, bandsaw cutting, table saw, mitre saw, drill press, mortiser and much more. Lots of ways to try machines that perhaps you haven’t tried before (under supervision). Of course the day always includes a great morning tea and BBQ lunch which is provided by the club.
